I don't know why this game needed to exist (besides money) because it has so little offer and is totally outclassed by the prior game in the series.Game or Patch Questions? Visit FileForums It's a grab bag of game design and writing without a common foundation making everything feel purposeless. I changed the difficulty to 'easy' and pushed through to the end to see if the story ever gets better. The game is all surface and, even worse, isn't fun. Big bombastic moments, but audio, visual, and animation issues undermine any impact. Beloved returning characters, but their roles in the plot are boring. New characters of all species to meet and learn about, but they don't have anything interesting to say. A home base to expand and customize, but none of it makes a difference. Giant world to explore, but it's uninteresting and unrewarding. Five combat stances for variety, but it's only cosmetic and calls the enemy design into question. There are pieces **** game here, but they don't work together (and often undermine other elements). Performance issues and bugs aside, the game is hopelessly devoid of direction. The game is compromised and amateurish - it's actually a marvel how every element of the game can be flawed so thoroughly. However, the technical shortcomings and the lackluster combat experience leave a significant dent in what could have been a stellar addition to the Star Wars gaming universe. Star Wars Jedi Survivor undoubtedly has its moments, especially in its faithful Jedi representation, stunning art, and musical accompaniment. Instead of embodying a nimble, dexterous Force master with superhuman reflexes, players are burdened with a character that feels clumsy and slow-to-the-punch, turning lightsaber battles into awkward and inconsistent encounters more akin to bar fights. While games like Marvel's Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham have perfected the art of engaging and approachable combat, this installment falls flat. This game also seems to suffer from Elden Ring envy when it comes to combat. The lack of a consistent frame rate significantly detracts from the overall gaming experience. Unlike titles like God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West that reliably deliver a stable 60fps, Star Wars Jedi Survivor falls noticeably short. A major letdown however was the game's performance in performance mode. The score is undeniably Star Wars-worthy, maintaining the iconic and immersive musical tradition that fans have come to expect from the franchise. The attention to detail and design elements contribute significantly to the game's aesthetic appeal. The art direction is also a standout feature, showcasing stellar visuals that immerse players in the Star Wars universe. The feeling of wielding a lightsaber and remodeling space stations using the Force is as close as it gets to living the Jedi fantasy. The game does succeed in capturing the essence of being a Jedi, building on the qualities of its predecessor. While this game has positive aspects, the overall experience left much to be desired.
